Introduction

In 2024, Chimnie partnered with leading insurance intelligence provider, Percayso Inform, to enhance property data accessibility for home insurers. Chimnie’s data platform, which conducts approximately 30 million virtual property inspections per week, integrates seamlessly into Percayso’s ecosystem, providing insurers with enriched insights on property attributes, risk factors, valuations, and market trends. This collaboration allows brokers, insurers, and MGAs to improve risk selection, refine pricing, and explore new product opportunities, such as real-time insurance models.

Challenges

Insurers increasingly require granular, real-time property intelligence to improve underwriting and enhance their digital offerings. However, many existing data providers rely on outdated datasets, limiting insurers’ ability to react dynamically to environmental and market changes. Additionally, integrating new data sources into underwriting workflows can be complex, requiring seamless API-driven solutions. Insurers also need cost-effective alternatives to traditional data providers, where high licensing fees often constrain innovation. The challenge was to provide high-quality, dynamic property data at scale while ensuring easy integration into existing insurance intelligence platforms.

Solutions

Chimnie’s extensive property database covers residential and commercial properties, delivering key insights across structural attributes, environmental risks, valuations, and market dynamics. By leveraging advanced AI modelling and high-frequency data updates, Chimnie ensures accuracy and relevance at an unprecedented scale. Percayso integrates Chimnie’s data directly into its intelligence hub, allowing insurers to access real-time property insights via simple API calls. This enables faster, more precise risk selection, competitive pricing strategies, and streamlined underwriting processes. The partnership also paves the way for insurers to explore emerging trends, such as on-demand and parametric insurance models.

Results

While the partnership is still in its early phases, initial adoption from insurers has been strong. By integrating Chimnie’s high-frequency property data, Percayso is enabling its clients to refine underwriting decisions with greater precision. Insurers now have access to a more holistic view of properties, reducing reliance on outdated static datasets. Additionally, insurers can explore more dynamic insurance models, adapting coverage in response to evolving property risks. As insurers increasingly prioritise data-driven decision-making, the Chimnie-Percayso partnership is set to play a key role in transforming how property risk is assessed and priced.

“Chimnie have built an impressive proposition which they are constantly adding to and improving. In the last year alone, they’ve added a number of new data streams and features to their platform that through our integration can be deployed to our customers quickly and easily.”
