Digital Planning Directory Showcased at LGA Annual Conference 2025
Liverpool, 1–3 July 2025
The Digital Planning Directory made a strong impression at the LGA Annual Conference and Exhibition 2025, the UK’s leading local government event, held this year in Liverpool from July 1–3. Bringing together senior leaders, council executives, and public sector innovators, the conference offered a dynamic platform to explore cutting-edge solutions shaping the future of local governance.
In collaboration with Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) Open Digital Planning team, the Digital Planning Directory was proud to exhibit at the event, spotlighting the critical role of digital innovation in transforming planning services across the UK.
Over the course of the three-day conference, the team engaged with more than 100 delegates, including council leaders, chief executives, and senior planning officers. Discussions focused on how the digital solutions showcased in the Digital Planning Directory can accelerate plan-making, streamline workflows, and enable faster, more efficient decision-making in local planning departments.
The energy and interest we saw around digital planning were incredible,” said Dr Wei Yang OBE, CEO of the Digital Task Force for Planning. “There’s a clear appetite among councils to adopt smarter technologies that improve transparency, reduce delays, and support sustainable development goals.
The exhibition underscored a growing consensus: digital transformation is a necessity for modern, responsive, and effective planning systems.
