Introduction

Stack Data Strategy is a quantitative public opinion research company, specialising in the measurement and analysis of local attitudes. Our research spans all topics from voting and consumer behaviours to issues like planning, development and place.

Our work with the built environment sector includes providing developers with analysis of local attitudes to specific developments and what those communities want investment in to improve their local area, as well as which aspects of new developments cause most concern. We have also worked with clients as varied as infrastructure partners and communications agencies to help them understand who lives near to specific proposed developments, what their views about particular kinds of development area, and how best to engage with them constructively to win support for their project.

We pair market-standard quantitative polling techniques with statistical techniques like multi-level regression and poststratification (MRP) to provide insight at a very granular geographical level; our models typically provide insight at Output Area level, the lowest level at which the ONS currently produce demographic data from the census.

This allows us to provide robust data on representative opinion within the close vicinity of any given site for development.
