Introduction
Local Insight is our place-based data platform that brings together small-area data across England, Scotland, and Wales, and is designed to help you to make informed decisions for community planning, resource allocation, or service targeting.
With sophisticated mapping, dashboards, and report generation features, the platform enables you to conduct small-area analysis to support your planning and service delivery, and monitor how an area has changed over time and the challenges it faces.
Designed to meet the needs of public, private, and third-sector organisations alike, our platform is relied upon by organisations across a range of different sectors.
Outside of Local Insight, OCSI contributes to major government initiatives, including the 2015 and 2019 updates to the Index of Multiple Deprivation (IMD) in England, which is the most widely used measure of deprivation. We are currently working on the next update, scheduled for release in 2025.
OCSI is also an approved G-Cloud 14 supplier, providing public sector clients with streamlined access to a Local Insight subscription.
