Introduction

At Map Impact we believe that nature can be improved in harmony with human activity and that climate adaptation can be achieved through better land management.

Our novel data products measure the landscape, providing clear and concise biodiversity and climate risk metrics to inform strategic action. These insights align with ever increasing environmental legislative demands to support local authorities, land managers, developers, housing providers, insurers, financiers, NGOs and others as they manage their assets to confront climate change.

Map Impact’s products offer a nationwide and objective understanding of biodiversity status and climate risk for every land parcel. Provided as data-as-a-service, these products are platform-agnostic, enabling flexible and instant integration with all other location-based data. With verification from in-house ecologists, users can trust that the metrics delivered are both reliable and consistent.

Our four data products - BiodiversityView©, HeatView™, WildfireView™, and DroughtView™ - are updated annually, providing valuable opportunities for monitoring and managing assets and landscapes. These products collectively illustrate the interconnectedness of nature and climate change. BiodiversityView© serves as a foundational component, offering insights into susceptibility to heat stress, wildfires, and droughts at a hyper-local scale, with risk scores available every 50 metres.

We take a highly collaborative approach to business which is proven through a wide range of partnerships with organisations such as ESRI, UKHAB, UKCEH, Ordnance Survey, and Healthy Homes Hub.

Testimonials

We spent £10,000, but the savings even on 5% of our estate could be in excess of £1m over time. Being aware of climate risks keeps us informed and allows better investment decisions. If you have this information, it changes the type of improvement work you are undertaking.
